Pinina was a Colombian hitman and enforcer who worked for the Medellin Cartel, led by Pablo Escobar. His real name was Jhon Jairo Velásquez Vásquez. He was known for his brutal tactics, including torture and assassination, and was responsible for the deaths of hundreds of people during his career as a member of the cartel. Pinina was considered one of the most feared and dangerous sicarios, or hired assassins, of the cartel. After Escobar's death, Pinina turned himself in to the authorities in 1992 and served time in prison for his crimes. He was released in 2014 but was arrested again in 2018 for extortion charges. He died due to complications from stomach cancer in February 2020 while serving his sentence in prison.
